Nigeria’s post and courier sector recorded a turnover of ₦248.14bn in the first nine months of 2025, according to transport and storage industry data reported by PUNCH.

The report said the figure represents a 56.28% increase from ₦158.73bn recorded in the corresponding period of 2024, pointing to higher volumes across parcel movement, dispatch services and small cargo deliveries.

A breakdown of the 2025 figures showed the sector earned ₦140.35bn in Q1, before easing to ₦54.79bn in Q2 and ₦53bn in Q3. In 2024, turnover was ₦80.89bn (Q1), ₦39.75bn (Q2) and ₦38.09bn (Q3).

Analysts quoted in the report linked the year-on-year growth to expanding e-commerce activity, rising intra-city deliveries and increased small-scale exports, while noting that seasonal conditions influenced quarterly performance.

The story also cited industry voices highlighting cost and operating pressures, including fuel expenses, infrastructure bottlenecks, multiple levies, high borrowing costs and regulatory concerns.
